Impressionistic interpretations of photographs from CISTHENE owner Jen Altman's book Gem and Stone: Jewels of Earth, Sea and Sky have been printed on 48"x48" crêpe de chine silk.

Agate has been mined throughout the world and has been used for thousands of years in ornamentation as both carvings and protective amulets. It was once believed to grant it's bearer the power of invisibility. It's used to balance and heal. Agate is the ayurvedic birthstone of those born in May and associated with both the signs of Gemini and Cancer.
